About

Paul Harris Paul currently works as faculty at The Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education and visiting faculty at City University. As well as his psychotherapeutic work, he provides bespoke training and facilitation to public/private sector organisations on both an individual and collective basis. As a Somatic Practitioner in the Arts, Paul is interested in deep change and in allowing authentic patterns of movement, language and relating to inform the (co) creative process in whatever medium.

“My belief is the blood and flesh as being wiser than the intellect. The body-unconscious is where life bubbles up in us. It is how we know we are alive, alive to the depths of our souls and in touch somewhere with the vivid reaches of the cosmos.”

Affirmations

“Wonderful goings – on. You seem to be into some amazing projects, adventures, areas of self-development and opportunities for development for those with whom you are working. Marvelous! To integrate it all-movement, language, relating, yoga, the BODY/mind-this will be a gift for those who journey with you.”
Dan Hughes PhD, 2008, Consultant and Trainer in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy

“What a moving account of work and how lucky Samantha and her family met up with you…What a labour of love, learning, loss, pain and hope-and what courage and openness in you.”
Valerie Sinason, 2006, Director of the Clinic for Dissociative Studies, UK, Child Psychotherapist, Adult Psychoanalyst, Writer and Poet.

“I really liked your poems. In some ways poetry is the best medium for evoking the body because rhythm, resonance of words, the sensuality of language itself all combine together to convey a subjective moment of embodiment. Your poems have this quality.”
Roz Carroll, MA UKCP Body Psychotherapist, Supervisor and Trainer at The Chiron Centre for Body Psychotherapy.

“Dear Paul, Thanks so much for your list of games. I used the spiral for the training in Northampton and everyone was very moved by it! I was enchanted by your wonderful games and am very happy to have a reminder of them. Actually I had forgotten the Hug Hum game - which I will now use everywhere I go. It's great! Did you grow up in a Theraplay family? Or is it just your wonderful, playful and sensitive spirit that leads you in this direction?”
